The Three Little Ships preschool has the following vacancies:

 

Substitute  Preschool Teaching Assistant

Work hours: as required on an on-call basis.

Typical work day is 8.00 – 16.00, Wednesdays from 8.00 – 14.00

The job involves:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities
  • Establishing positive relationships with all the children, including those with additional educational needs
  • Supervising children in the classroom and other learning areas
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children
  • Evaluating the development and learning of children
  • Helping to set up and to maintain a safe learning environment

All applicants must:

  • Have recognised Dutch qualifications in Early Childhood Care: PM3 or
  • Be a European citizen and have a recognised European qualification in Early Childhood Care with written evidence from the Dutch authorities that you may work professionally in Early Childhood settings (kinderopvang/peuterspeelzaal) or
  • Have a Dutch-recognised teacher qualification for Early Years/Primary School settings
  • A valid work permit for The Netherlands
  • Have experience of working with young children
  • Having experience with children with additional educational needs will be considered an advantage
  • Be a  native or near-native English speaker
  • Have good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Be a flexible team player
  • Have good ICT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Be eligible to live and work in the EU.

Salary details: available on request, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Lunchtime Volunteers

The Three Little Ships Preschool and Lighthouse Special Education is currently seeking volunteers to support our students during lunchtime. Volunteers work across three classes: one preschool class with students aged 3 years to 5 years and two self-contained special educational classes with students aged 5 years to 12 years. It is helpful if volunteers can commit to at least one regular day per week on an ongoing basis.

Work hours: (Any combination of) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11.50 – 13.20

The job involves:

  • Preparing for the students’ lunchtime – warming food that students have brought to school, getting utensils ready etc.
  • Assisting students with eating their lunch.
  • Promoting positive behaviour at the table and in the classroom.
  • Clearing up after lunch.
  • Supervision of children outside at play.

All applicants must:

  • Have experience of working with young children and with children with special educational needs.
  • Be a fluent communicator in English.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Have a flexible, professional approach.
  • Be eligible to live and work in the EU.

Salary details: this is an unsalaried, volunteer post with a small reimbursement of expenses.
